Project overview
This ambitious project, carried out by Helind Enerji, covers equipping 223 homes and an administrative building in Zabukh village, Lachin district, with on-grid solar power systems. Each home has a 3.3 kW solar system made up of 6 panels rated at 550 W. The main goal of the project is to meet the village's electricity needs in a more economical, environmentally friendly and reliable way.
Economic benefits and payback
- Electricity savings: each home saves about 50–60 AZN a month on electricity. That adds up to more than 13,000 AZN in total savings per year.
- Payback period: the investment pays for itself in about 4–5 years.
- Grid integration: on-grid systems make it possible to export (sell) surplus energy to the grid.
Environmental impact
With this project:
- 950 tons of carbon emissions are avoided every year;
- dependence on traditional fuels decreases;
- green energy awareness grows in the village.
Installation and technical support
The systems installed by Helind Enerji include the following components:
- Solar panels (6 x 550 W = 3.3 kW)
- On-grid inverters
- Energy monitoring systems
- Protection and safety equipment
Why the project matters
For Zabukh village, this project is not only about energy savings but also a symbol of the shift to modern energy technologies. It is the first collective use of solar energy on this scale in the region, and it can become a model for other villages.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
1. Do these systems have batteries?
No, these are on-grid systems connected directly to the grid. Surplus energy is exported (sold) to the grid.
2. Is the energy enough for each home?
Yes, 3.3 kW of power fully covers the daily needs of an average family in rural conditions.
3. Does output drop in winter?
Output is lower in winter, but over the year the systems deliver their rated generation.
4. Can the system be expanded or batteries added later?
Yes, the systems are built on a modular principle, so batteries can be integrated and capacity expanded later.
5. What type of panels were used?
The project uses 550 W monocrystalline solar panels.
6. How does the system work when the grid is down?
On-grid systems work together with the grid, so they do not supply energy when the grid is down.
This solar energy project by Helind Enerji in Zabukh village is a landmark step for savings, environmental sustainability and energy independence. This model can set an example for other villages and settlements in Azerbaijan.
