Helind Enerji installed two different solar power systems at a car park in the city of Aghdam: a 30 kW on-grid system built over a large area and an additional, more flexible and resilient 5 kW hybrid system. This project is an energy solution that is both technically efficient and environmentally beneficial.
On-grid solar power system – 30 kW
The system installed on the main part of the car park uses 69 solar panels rated at 550 W. The on-grid system is connected directly to the national grid: energy produced during the day is used immediately and the surplus is exported to the grid.
Main advantages of this system:
- Significant savings on monthly and annual energy costs
- Automatic operation and technical reliability
- Simple and efficient control
Hybrid solar power system – 5 kW
Installed at another point of the car park, this system can draw energy from the sun, the grid and batteries. It is an ideal choice for points where an uninterrupted power supply is essential. During the day, energy comes from the sun, the surplus is stored in batteries and used at night or during power outages.
Advantages of the hybrid system:
- Uninterrupted power supply
- Energy security and the ability to run autonomously
- Flexible control with battery support
Technical calculations (approximate)
30 kW on-grid system:
- Daily generation: about 98 kWh
- Monthly generation: about 2,950 kWh
- Annual generation: about 35,870 kWh
5 kW hybrid system:
- Daily generation: about 16.4 kWh
- Monthly generation: about 490 kWh
- Annual generation: about 6,000 kWh
Total annual generation (both systems combined):
about 41,870 kWh
Environmental benefits
Together, the two systems produce about 41,870 kWh of clean energy every year. This prevents about 31 tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) from being released into the atmosphere.
This is roughly equal to:
- the annual carbon absorption of 1,250 trees
- or the CO₂ emitted by 10 cars over 1 year of use.
Towards the future with clean energy
Bringing alternative energy systems to regions being rebuilt, such as Aghdam, has strategic value not only economically but also socially and environmentally. By building sustainable energy infrastructure in these territories, Helind Enerji continues to contribute to Azerbaijan's energy independence and environmental sustainability.
